Early Life and Career

Steeve-Mike Boukary was born in Papeete, Tahiti, on March 26, 1981. As a young boy, he showed exceptional talent in football and joined the youth academy of FC Nantes in France.

Professional Debut with Nantes

At the age of 18, Boukary made his professional debut for FC Nantes as a striker. Over the next six seasons, he became an integral part of the team, winning the French Ligue 1 title in 2001 and two Coupe de France titles in 2000 and 2003.

Transfer to OGC Nice

Boukary moved to OGC Nice in the summer of 2004. There, he played as an attacking midfielder for three seasons. However, he developed disagreements with the head coach, Frédéric Antonetti, which led to his departure in 2007.

Return to Ligue 1 with FC Lorient

Boukary signed with FC Lorient, who had recently been promoted to Ligue 1. He played for two years with Lorient, before retiring from professional football in 2010.

International Career

Boukary was capped for the French youth national team. He is also a descendant of the Tahitian royal family and has played for the Tahitian national team. Boukary was named Oceania Footballer of the Year in 2005.

Legacy

Steeve-Mike Boukary is regarded as one of the most successful players from Tahiti to play in European football. His achievements with FC Nantes, where he won the Ligue 1 title, remain notable highlights of his career.
