Marc Crosas: A Versatile Midfielder with a Spanish Pedigree

Roots in Barcelona's Youth System

Marc Crosas, a Spanish footballer, was born in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Spain. Nurtured in the prestigious academy of FC Barcelona, Crosas honed his skills through the ranks, becoming a standout talent in the club's youth system. He represented all of Barcelona's youth teams, including the distinguished 'Juvenil A' squad.

Breaking into the First Team

Crosas' exceptional talent caught the attention of English giants Liverpool FC, who expressed interest in signing him on loan. However, Barcelona held firm, rejecting the offer and recognizing the promise within their own ranks. In 2006, Crosas penned a five-year professional contract with the 'Blaugrana'.

His first-team debut came on November 8, 2006, in a Copa del Rey match against Badalona. Despite limited appearances, Crosas was part of the Barcelona squad that lifted the FIFA Club World Cup in 2006 and the Copa Cataluña the same year.

Loaned to Lyon

In January 2008, Crosas sought greater playing time and joined French club Olympique Lyonnais on loan. Under the tutelage of Brazilian legend Juninho Pernambucano, he debuted in Ligue 1 against RC Lens. Lyon's president, Jean-Michel Aulas, praised Crosas' qualities, but the club's decision on a permanent transfer was left to the incoming manager.

A New Chapter at Celtic

In August 2008, Crosas moved to Scottish giants Celtic FC on a four-year contract. He made his debut as a substitute against Falkirk and became a regular starter later in the season. Crosas scored his first goal for Celtic in February 2010 with a spectacular long-range effort against St. Mirren. He was named Celtic's Young Player of the Year for the 2008/09 season.

A Career in Russia

After losing his place in Celtic's starting lineup, Crosas opted for a fresh start and joined Russian Premier League club FC Volga Nizhny Novgorod in February 2011. He made his debut against FC Tom Tomsk and has since become a key player for the team.

International Representation

Crosas represented Spain at the youth level, making eight appearances for the Under-19s. He also plays for the unofficial Catalonia national team, which participates in friendly matches.

Marc Crosas is the cousin of goalkeeper Albert Jorquera and a close friend of former Barcelona teammate Bojan Krkic. He has a sponsorship deal with Nike and has appeared in advertisements for the brand.
