Biography of Marcelo Cassaro
Marcelo Cassaro is a Brazilian comic book author, role-playing game developer, and writer. He began his career in 1985 at the age of 15, working as an assistant at the animation studio 'Maurício de Sousa'. Cassaro is known as the creator of the comic book 'Holy Avenger' and other comics such as the series 'Dungeons Crawlers', 'Captain Ninja', 'Lua dos Dragões', and 'Dragonesa'. He is also the co-creator of the popular game campaign 'Tormenta' and the creator of the '3D&T' game system.
Early Career and Comic Books
In 1989, Cassaro started working as an artist and later became a writer at the publishing company 'Editora Abril'. As a comic book author, he won the 'Maurício de Sousa' prize three times in 1991, 1992, and 1994. During the early 1990s, Cassaro served as the editor of the gaming magazine 'Progames', which was later renamed 'Gamers'.
Dragão Brasil Magazine
In 1995, Cassaro began publishing his own magazine called 'Dragão Brasil'. He worked as the editor and author for each issue until the hundredth edition, which was released in November 2003. After the 111th issue, he decided to dedicate himself to other projects such as comics, games, and the production of the animated series 'Holy Avenger'. The publication of 'Dragão Brasil' ceased, while Cassaro went on to work for the ongoing magazine 'DragonSlayer' in December 2005.
Other Projects and Notable Works
Aside from his involvement in the comic book and gaming industry, Cassaro is also the leading author of the Brazilian comic 'Monica's Gang Teen'. He is recognized for his science fiction work 'Sword of the Galaxy' ('Espada da Galáxia'). Additionally, Cassaro worked on an unfinished comic book series called 'Killbite', which was a supplement to 'Captain Ninja' and only had its first part published.
Throughout his career, Marcelo Cassaro has made significant contributions to the Brazilian comic book and gaming scene, earning him a prominent reputation as one of the most well-known game designers in Brazil.
