Marco Bocci: A Versatile Artist

Early Life and Education

Born on August 4, 1978, in Marsciano, Italy, to Marco and Eufemia Bocciolini, Marco Bocci grew up with his sister, Sara. After graduating high school, he moved to Rome to attend La Scaletta, a drama conservatory. To pursue his acting career, he shortened his surname to Bocci.

Film and Television Career

Bocci's film debut came in 1998 with minor roles in films like "Borgia" and "Someone Says No." He gained prominence with lead roles in "One Thousand and One Nights," a miniseries where he portrayed Aladdin, and the crime drama "Solo," where he played an undercover agent infiltrating a mafia clan.

Bocci starred in "Mario Francese," depicting the story of a journalist who was murdered while uncovering a mafia boss's secrets. His versatility is evident in "Ninth Degree," an action film where he plays a lawyer investigating a €100 million theft, and "Armed Bastards," where he portrays an ex-convict returning to crime.

Stage Performances

Alongside his film and television work, Bocci has graced the theatrical stage. He has performed in renowned plays such as "Romeo and Juliet," "Cyrano de Bergerac," and "Modigliani," showcasing his dramatic range.

Writing Pursuits

Bocci is also an accomplished writer. His debut novel, "A Tor Bella Monaca non piove mai," was published in 2016 and later adapted into a film. The actor directed, wrote, and made a cameo appearance in the adaptation. In 2020, he released his second novel, "In provincia si sogna sbagliato."

Personal Life

In 2013, Bocci met model, singer, and actress Laura Chiatti. Their relationship began with online correspondence and phone calls. They exchanged a kiss that December, leading Chiatti to get a tattoo in its honor. The couple got engaged in January 2014.

Bocci and Chiatti married in summer 2014 while Chiatti was pregnant. Their first child, Enea, was born in January 2015. Coincidentally, their wedding usher also welcomed a son on the same day. In summer 2016, the couple welcomed their second son, Pablo.

In 2022, rumors surfaced about a marital crisis, but Chiatti clarified in an interview that their bond had withstood challenges.

Recent Health Concerns

In 2023, Bocci revealed that he had contracted a rare virus affecting his memory and speech four years prior. While he has regained his voice, he still struggles with facial recognition and partial childhood amnesia. His condition has led to feelings of ignorance and limitation, but he has persevered in his acting career.

Current Projects

In 2023, Bocci appeared in the thriller "The Double Soul," alongside Paz Vega and F. Murray Abraham. He also starred in the series "The Unwanted," focusing on refugees facing deportation back to Africa.
