Education and Early Career
Nina Usatovagraduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography (LGITMiK) in 1962 under the guidance of Professor T.G. Soinikova. She began her career at the Russian Tbilisi Youth Theater, performing in productions such as "Puss in Boots" and "The Little Robber Girl." In Tbilisi, she joined the Academic State Russian Drama Theater named after A.S. Griboedov, where she cherished her role in "Alone, Without Angels."
Moscow and Television
In 1976, Usatova moved to Moscow and became part of the New Drama Theater. Among her notable performances were "The Bourgeois Gentleman," in which she played the philosopher, a paradoxical role amidst her wide repertoire. On television, Usatova narrated "Vera Panova's Stories," hosted the program "My Family," and appeared in series such as "Petya the Magnificent," "Tourists," and "Tatyana's Day."
"Tusia" in "Tatyana's Day"
In the hit television series "Tatyana's Day," Usatova became synonymous with the character of "Tusia." Tusia, a housekeeper in the Barinov family's mansion, had been a constant presence in their home for over two decades. As the family's gatekeeper, she controlled all aspects of their lives, from security to plumbing. Despite her devotion, Tusia maintained a wry sense of humor towards her employers, believing that without her, they would flounder within days.
