Biography of Markie Post
Markie Post, born on November 4, 1950, in Palo Alto, California, is an American actress, best known for her role in the NBC sitcom "Night Court" from 1985 to 1992 as defense attorney Christine Sullivan, as well as for the series "The Fall Guy" (1982-1985).

Early Life and Education
Post is the daughter of physicist Richard F. Post, who gained recognition for his work in nuclear physics, particle accelerators, and electronics. She grew up in Walnut Creek, California, and was involved in supporting her school's sports teams at Las Lomas High School. She later attended Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Acting Career
Post first appeared on screen in several game shows. She started her acting career as a participant in the TV show "Split Second" and later worked as a production assistant on "Double Dare" and "Card Sharks," both on NBC. She continued to frequently appear in game shows even after achieving fame, particularly in "Pyramid" and "Password."

Her early roles in TV series and films include appearances in two episodes of "The A-Team" in 1983 and 1984, as well as in the sci-fi series "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century." She caught the attention of producers of the ABC TV series "The Fall Guy," a dramatic action show, and was invited to join the regular cast. Following that project, Post portrayed Christine Sullivan in the comedy series "Night Court" from the third season until the end.
In addition to these roles, Post played Georgie Hartman in the series "Hearts Afire" alongside John Ritter. She also made regular appearances in "The District" and "Scrubs." Some of her more recent projects include roles in the series "Holiday in Handcuffs" and "Ghost Whisperer." Post also appeared in TV films such as "Tricks of the Trade" (1988) and "Glitz," where she played a singer opposite Jimmy Smits.
One of Post's most well-known films is "There's Something About Mary" (1998), in which she portrayed the mother of the main character, played by Cameron Diaz, named Sheila Jensen.

Markie Post is married to writer and actor Michael Ross. The couple has two daughters. This is her second marriage, as she was previously married to her college classmate Stephen Knox, but they separated shortly after.
