Marusha is a German-Greek DJ and musician. She began her career in 1991 in Berlin with the program "Dancehall," which aired every Saturday on the youth radio station "DT 64". When the radio station was about to cease its existence, Marusha changed the frequency and the name of the show. Now in Berlin, on the wave of radio "RPR1 102.6," you can hear Marusha's program "Rave Satellite" once a week. In addition to this, the talented Marusha surprised German television viewers with her youth program "Feuerreiter". The program was broadcast for two and a half years on ORB and later on ARD, and it was very popular.
The year 1994 was Marusha's year. Her single "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" became her biggest hit, reaching the third position in the Media Control chart and achieving platinum status with over 500,000 copies sold. No techno composition had reached such a high position before. Her next single, "It Takes Me Away," was equally successful and achieved gold status. In the summer of 1994, Marusha released her debut album "Raveland," which is still one of the most popular dance albums of all time.
Marusha's successful period continued throughout 1995. She performed at countless events in Germany and abroad and participated in almost all contemporary techno and house music events. She received the "VIVA Comet 95" award as the best techno music performer and author, as well as the "Echo Award 95" as the best female performer in Germany. She was also nominated for the "MTV Award 95" as the best female performer at the ceremony held in Berlin at the Brandenburg Gate.
After a year-long break from studio and DJ work, Marusha finally released a new song. Her new single "Deep" entered the familiar chart (12th place in Media Control) as if there had been no break. The simultaneously released "Unique" and "Wir" achieved similar results, confirming Marusha's weight in the world of techno-house music. After "Secret," her fans had to test their patience again. In February 1997, Marusha returned with a new release. In the composition "UR Life," Marusha incorporated her accumulated experience and work from her travels into one idea. This song is a musical composition with elements of playful hip-hop, techno, and new wave, which together form the original Channel Sound. The single immediately became a hit in the club music scene and achieved expected results in the charts, reaching 34th place in the Media Control Singles chart.
