Biography of Massimo Alba
Italian DesignerMassimo Alba began his career behind the scenes, working as a designer and creative director for several influential Italian fashion brands. In the mid-1980s, he opened his own companies, 'Ever Clean' and '97 rue des Mimosas', where he showcased collections of cashmere knitwear for men and women and cashmere for the home. Both of Alba's ventures were acquired by 'Malo' in 1987, thanks to their stunning products and innovative designs.

Creative Director of 'Malo'
From 1988 to 1999, Alba served as the creative director of 'Malo'. Through his hard work, the brand underwent a transformation, introducing new concepts and controlling the release of new collections. Alba was also responsible for the design of exhibition halls and stores, as well as coordinating all advertising communications.

Rebranding 'Piombo' and 'Ballantyne'
In 1999, Massimo Alba embarked on the complex process of defining the new identity of the 'Piombo' brand. He was responsible for the construction, production, and sale of products, as well as taking on the role of communication manager. Alba even created the concept for the first 'Piombo' store on Via della Spiga in the center of Milan.

From 2000 to 2002, Alba served as the creative director of 'Agnona', immersing himself in rebranding the company. In 2002, he took on the same role at 'Dawson International' to develop the 'Ballantyne' brand. Alba was involved in design, production, styling, collection creation, and the integration of communication strategies, all within the framework of giving birth to the unique concept of 'Ballantyne'. He also worked on the image of the brand's showrooms and stores.
Founding 'Massimo Alba'
In 2003, 'Charme Investments', Alfredo Canesso, and Massimo Alba acquired the 'Ballantyne' brand. Until 2006, Alba was responsible for the creative direction of the acquired company. The new brand, named after the designer himself, 'Massimo Alba', was established in 2006. The brand's first flagship store opened in Milan, on Via Brera 8. Another store with the same concept opened at Palazzo Lancellotti in Rome in 2014. In the same year, 'Massimo Alba' had the opportunity to conquer Tokyo, where a grand opening of the brand's store took place in October.
