Early Life and Career

Massimo Gobbi, an Italian footballer renowned for his defensive prowess, began his journey at the tender age of 11 when he joined the youth ranks of Cormano. Five years later, he made the illustrious leap to A.C. Milan's youth academy. However, in pursuit of completing his high school education in Cinisello, Gobbi opted to depart Milan and play for Pro Sesto.

Breaking into the Professional Ranks

After a season with Pro Sesto, Gobbi moved to Treviso but saw limited action, featuring in only seven matches over two seasons. He subsequently embarked on loan spells with Giulianova in Serie C2 and AlbinoLeffe in Serie C1, helping the latter achieve promotion to Serie B. Upon his return, Gobbi finally established himself in the Treviso first team, playing in every league match during the 2003-04 season.

Serie A Debut and Cagliari Success

In 2004, Gobbi made a significant step in his career by joining Cagliari for €700,000, with Treviso retaining half of his transfer rights.
