Matej Mitrovic: A Croatian Football Defender

Matej Mitrovic is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a defender. Currently, he is on loan from Turkish club Besiktas to Belgian club Brugge.

Early Career

Mitrovic began his football career with Cibalia before making his Croatian First League debut on February 25, 2012. He joined Rijeka in September 2013 and scored his first goal at the highest level in May 2014 during the Croatian Cup final against Dinamo Zagreb.

Besiktas Move

In January 2017, Mitrovic signed a 3.5-year contract with Besiktas for a transfer fee of €4.2 million and an annual salary of €1.2 million.

International Debut

Mitrovic made his international debut for Croatia in November 2014. He replaced Marco Leskovic in the 84th minute of a friendly match against Argentina.
