Early Life and Influences
Maxim Baldry was born on January 5, 1996, in Moscow, Russia, to a British father and a Russian mother. His father worked for the confectionery company Cadbury in Moscow, while his mother came from a creative family, with his grandmother being a ballerina and his grandfather a jazz saxophonist.

Maxim grew up with his older brother, Vic, and they both became fluent in Russian. When Maxim was four years old, his family moved to Warsaw, and in 2003, they settled in the United Kingdom, where they currently reside.

From a young age, Maxim displayed artistic abilities, inherited from his grandparents. He had a passion for music, especially Aram Khachaturian's "Dance of the Sabres," which he performed as a child. Later, he participated in school plays, sang in musicals, and wrote scripts for home performances.

Acting Career
Maxim's acting career took off when he joined the Jackie Palmer Stage School. In 2005, he made his voice acting debut in the animated film "The Little Polar Bear 2: The Mysterious Island."

Two years later, he made his live-action film debut as Stepan in the comedy "Mr. Bean's Holiday." His audition process involved three rounds, and he emerged victorious among a thousand other candidates who possessed Russian language skills and acting experience. Maxim's performance alongside Rowan Atkinson was a valuable experience for him.

After "Mr. Bean's Holiday," Maxim appeared in the historical TV series "Rome" as the young Caesarion, Cleopatra and Caesar's son. He also had a small role in the play "The Rose Tattoo" at the National Theatre.
Adversity and Breakthrough
However, Maxim's career faced obstacles during his teenage years, a time less popular with casting directors due to physical and vocal changes. Additionally, his mixed heritage posed challenges, as he was neither seen as British enough nor Russian enough for certain roles.
Maxim experienced a prolonged period of unemployment, during which he worked in a pub and as a delivery driver to make ends meet. This situation led to a period of depression and suicidal thoughts.
In 2016, Maxim's career was revived when he landed a role in the soap opera "Hollyoaks." He played Liam Donovan for 80 episodes, portraying a character who navigated a personal drama and committed crimes.
Recent Roles
In 2019, Maxim appeared in a supporting role in the miniseries "Years." His character, Viktor, was a Ukrainian refugee who fled his homeland due to persecution based on his sexual orientation.
Maxim is currently a cast member in the Amazon Prime series "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power," set to premiere in September 2022. He portrays Isildur, the eldest son of Elendil the Tall, who inherits the royal title and the Númenorean-in-Exile house after his father's death.

Maxim Baldry is active on Instagram, sharing personal photos and behind-the-scenes moments from his film work. He enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and pursuing his passion for music as part of the duo Terra Twin.
