Return to the States and the Birth of a Writer

After his tenure in East Asia, Gladstone returned to the United States and worked at Harvard's Berkman Center, researching Chinese internet policy. In 2009, he joined Aberdeen Group as a business analyst. During this time, he continued writing his debut novel and secured a literary agent after an extensive search.

A Literary Debut and Beyond

Gladstone's debut novel, "Three Parts Dead," was released in October 2012 and was nominated for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer. Following the success of his first book, he quit his job and became a full-time author. Gladstone's inspiration for writing fantasy with a legal backdrop stemmed from conversations with his mother-in-law, a practicing attorney.
