Melanie Jane Lynskey was born on May 16, 1977, in New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand. At the age of 15, she made her acting debut in Peter Jackson's thriller "Heavenly Creatures" (1994), earning critical acclaim for her portrayal of Pauline Parker.
American Debut and Rising Star
