Melora Diane Hardin: Biography
Melora Diane Hardin, born on June 29, 1967, is an American actress best known for her role as Jan Levinson in the NBC series "The Office". While many of Hardin's fans primarily know her as Jan Levinson, they would be surprised to learn more about her extensive biography. Hardin has been working in the entertainment industry for several decades, starting from a young age. She has appeared in a wide range of projects, from Disney films and popular drama series in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, to commercials and successful feature films. Hardin has also tried her hand at directing and is known for her talent as a singer, poet, and comedian.

Early Life and Career
Hardin's talent for acting seems to run in her blood. Her father, Jerry Hardin, is a talented actor, while her mother, Diane Hill Hardin, is an acting teacher. With such a background, it was inevitable for Hardin to immerse herself in the world of cinema. She made her first foray into acting at the age of six when she starred in a popular toothpaste commercial called "Peak Toothpaste". At the age of ten, she joined the cast of the children's program "Cliffwood Avenue Kids", which aired in the evenings after episodes of "The Flintstones".

During the 1970s, Hardin appeared in several unsuccessful pilot episodes for various TV series. However, her breakthrough in the film industry came at the age of eleven when she landed a notable role in the Disney comedy "The North Avenue Irregulars" directed by Bruce Bilson. Despite her exceptional performances, many of the films she starred in during the 80s and 90s failed to achieve commercial success. However, there were some exceptions, such as her role in the Disney film "The Rocketeer" in 1991, where she also contributed to the film's soundtrack with her singing. In 1997, Hardin appeared in Clint Eastwood's crime thriller "Absolute Power" and gained further recognition for her role in the film "Thank You for Smoking" alongside Aaron Eckhart.

The Office and Beyond
Although Hardin has had success in film, she has achieved the most recognition on television. She excelled in guest roles in various TV series, but she is best known for her portrayal of Jen Levinson in the NBC comedy series "The Office". The show depicts the everyday life of a typical office managed by Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell), an affable but incredibly lonely and inept boss. Hardin's character, Jen Levinson, often contrasts the antics of Michael with her rational behavior. The success of the series brought Hardin a new wave of popularity.
Never one to rest on her laurels, Hardin continuously strives to improve her professional skills. She took on the lead role in a regional production of the play "Strip Search", a colorful tragicomedy about a woman embarking on a journey to find her true self, ultimately finding her calling in stripping. Hardin also ventured into directing and editing with the independent project "You", written by her husband Gildart Jackson. The film starred Jackson, Hardin's parents, and her "Office" co-star Kate Flannery.
In 2006, Hardin returned to the film industry, signing a contract with Fox Atomic and Tapestry Films to play one of the lead roles in the film "The Comebacks", directed by Tom Brady. The film tells the story of a football coach tasked with turning around an underperforming football team. Hardin's work continues in both film and television to this day, even beyond her role in "The Office".
