Early Life

Mykhailo Vasyl'ovych Horovenko was born on January 3, 1940, in the city of Skvira, Kyiv Oblast.

Education and Training

After completing his secondary education, Horovenko attended the Rodinske Mining Vocational School, graduating in 1974 as a mining machine operator. He later studied at a vocational school in Donetsk and worked at the "6th Kapitalna" mine.

Mining Career

In 1965, Horovenko began his career at the "Krasnolimanska" mine as a support repair apprentice. He advanced to the role of support repair worker in 1966 and later to coal miner in 1975. In that same year, he was appointed as the foreman of a mining brigade.

Significant Achievement

In 1999, under the leadership of Horovenko and site manager V. M. Steblyakov, the brigade at Site No. 6 achieved an extraordinary milestone by extracting 1 million tons of coal in 11 months.

Retirement

Mykhailo Horovenko has since retired from his mining career.
