Geoffrey Bayldon was born on January 7, 1924, in Leeds, England. He began his acting career in the theater, performing in repertory companies and on the BBC's Third Programme.

Iconic Role as Alfred Pennyworth

Bayldon is best known for his portrayal of Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne's trusted butler, in four Batman films: "Batman" (1989), "Batman Returns" (1992), "Batman Forever" (1995), and "Batman & Robin" (1997). His portrayal of the character became iconic and set the standard for subsequent actors who played Alfred.

Doctor Who and Hammer Horror

Bayldon also made numerous appearances in the long-running British science fiction series "Doctor Who." His most notable role was as the villain in the serial "The Celestial Toymaker." He later played the role of Hedin in the serial "The Infinite Quest."
