Early Career and Theatre Success

After graduating from the Leningrad Technical College of Stage Art in 1928, Ekaterininsky joined the "Theatre of Actor's Mastery" founded by L.S. Vivien. The theatre later became the Akdrama branch and eventually part of the Leningrad Theatre of the Red Army. In 1936, it transformed into the "Realistic Theatre under Vivien's Direction." From 1938 to 1943, Ekaterininsky performed at the Leningrad Theatre named after the Leninist Komsomol. He then moved to the Leningrad Pushkin Drama Theatre in 1943.
