Michael Taylor was born on January 3, 1946, in Birmingham, England. From 1969, he performed with various rock bands.
Formation of Quartz
In 1974, Taylor joined the rock band Quartz, initially known as "Bandy Legs."
Quartz's Rise and Success
Until 1977, Quartz supported renowned bands like AC/DC and Black Sabbath. Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi produced their debut album, and Ozzy Osbourne provided backing vocals on the track "Circles." Brian May also played a guitar solo on the same track.
Quartz's Touring and Festivals
Quartz toured extensively, performing at the Reading and Leeds Festivals three times (1976, 1977, and 1980) and supporting hard rock bands such as Iron Maiden, Saxon, UFO, and Rush.
Quartz's Studio Albums
Quartz released two studio albums with Taylor: "Quartz" (1977) and "Stand Up and Fight" (1980). However, he did not participate in the recording of their third album, "Against All Odds" (1983).
