In 1986, Otto's breakthrough film role was in "Emma's War," where she portrayed a teenage girl evacuated to Australia during World War II. The film's success brought her recognition in the Australian film industry.

In 1998 and 2000, Otto ventured into Hollywood with roles in "The Thin Red Line" and "What Lies Beneath." Her career reached new heights in 2002 with her portrayal of Éowyn in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

Return to Australia and Television
