Biography of Miriam Shor
Miriam Shor is an American actress who was born in 1971 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to a Jewish family. Although she was born in the United States, her childhood was spent in Italy, where her father, Francis Shor, was a teacher. After her parents' divorce when she was seven years old, Miriam moved between Detroit, Michigan, where her mother settled, and Venice, where her father remained.

Inspired by her older sister Molly, whom Miriam saw performing in a school play, she began to dream of a career in the entertainment industry. With exceptional talent and determination, she joined the theater troupe at Ferndale High School and later participated in numerous student theater productions at the University of Michigan, where she graduated in 1989.

Following her studies, Miriam moved to New York City to pursue her acting career. In 1999, she received her first film role in the romantic drama "Entropy" directed by Phil Joanou. This marked the beginning of her promising career, and in the same year, she appeared in several other films, including the comedy-drama "Snow Days" directed by Adam Marcus.

In the year 2000, Miriam played a significant role in the fantasy comedy "Bedazzled" directed by Harold Ramis. In 2001, she landed the lead role in the musical drama "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" directed by John Cameron Mitchell, where she starred alongside the director himself as the rock singer Hedwig. This role brought Miriam her greatest success, leading to more film opportunities. She appeared in various movies such as the comedy "Pizza" directed by Mark Christopher, the short film "Set Set Spike" directed by Emily Hubley, and the lead role in "Second Born" directed by Jevon Rush.
In addition to her film work, Miriam Shor has been actively involved in television. She has appeared in numerous TV series, including "The West Wing," "My Name Is Earl," "Big Day," "Damages," "Swingtown," and others. Throughout her relatively short career, Miriam has appeared in over 25 films and TV projects.
In April 2009, Miriam Shor announced that she was expecting her first child. Photos of the expectant mother circulated on the internet, and her fans happily noted that pregnancy made Miriam even more charming.
