Biography of Moana Pozzi
Moana Pozzi, an Italian actress known for her work in adult films, was born Anna Maria Pozzi in Genoa, Liguria, Italy. Her parents chose the unusual name "Moana" from a geographical map, finding a beautiful word in the region of Hawaii, which roughly translates to "deepest place in the sea".
As a teenager, Moana lived in Canada and Brazil before returning to Italy in 1974. After finishing school, she settled in Rome and began her independent life. She worked as a model and studied acting, occasionally landing small roles in commercials or comedy films.
Moana was highly ambitious and had several well-known lovers, including the Prime Minister of Italy, Bettino Craxi. With his help, she secured a job on the Rai Television channel in a children's entertainment program. However, her involvement in the hardcore porn film "Valentina, ragazza in calore" caused a scandal, leading to her departure from television.
In 1985, Federico Fellini invited Moana to appear in his film "Ginger and Fred". The following year, she met Riccardo Schicchi, the manager of the agency "Diva Future", which represented popular porn stars at the time. Moana starred in her first pornographic film, "Fantastica Moana", using her real name. She later appeared on the show "Curve Deliziose", where she and other porn stars, including Cicciolina, performed live masturbation on stage.
Moana's provocative actions generated significant public attention and boosted her popularity. She eventually surpassed Cicciolina in fame, as Cicciolina decided to leave the porn industry for a political career.
Moana always openly discussed taboo topics with the media and embraced her profession, deriving pleasure from it. In 1992, she co-founded the "Love Party of Italy" with Ilona Staller. The party's political agenda included the legalization of brothels, the promotion of sexual education, and the creation of "love parks". Although no members of the party were elected to parliament, Moana received additional publicity.
In the summer of 1994, Moana experienced sudden health problems, including weight loss and difficulty eating. She took a vacation to India with her secret husband, Antonio Di Ciesco, but her condition did not improve. Upon her return to Europe, she was hospitalized. On September 15, 1994, Moana passed away, and the exact cause of her death remains unknown. Some sources speculate it was due to liver cancer, while others mention AIDS.
