Biography of Molly Holly
Molly Holly, whose real name is Nora Greenwald, was born in Linwood Township, Minnesota. She started her athletic career at a young age and became the captain of her school gymnastics team. At the age of fourteen, she attended the American School of Powerlifting and set a record by lifting 45 kilograms, surpassing the previous record by 12 kilograms. Her father was also a powerlifter and a champion in Minnesota.
Early Career
In the spring of 1997, Molly worked at a restaurant called "Sandwich Artist," but found it boring. One of the customers happened to be the owner of a wrestling school and asked Molly if she was interested in training. She decided to give it a try and enrolled in a wrestling school in Tampa, Florida. She was mentored by Prince Akeem, who taught her wrestling in her free time. Molly made her wrestling debut in the summer of 1997 under the ring name Starla Sexton.
WCW and Independent Circuit
After debuting in WCW, Molly wrestled in various promotions before returning to WCW in 1998. She feuded with Malia Hosaka during this time. Molly also competed in promotions such as PGWA and CCW. In October 1998, she had a match against Jacqueline in WWE's Sunday Night Heat, where she lost to the veteran. Molly then returned to WCW, as well as wrestled in PCW and ECWA. In 1999, Molly changed her ring name to Mona and became Miss Madness 1999. She joined the Team Madness stable led by Randy Savage. However, her partnership with Savage and the stable eventually ended.
WWE
Molly made her debut in WWE by helping her "cousin" Crash Holly and the team Too Cool during an attack by Test and Albert. This led to her feud with Trish Stratus. Molly competed in tag team matches alongside Crash Holly and Steve Blackman against Trish, Test, and Albert. She won her first title, the Hardcore Championship, at WrestleMania X8 by defeating The Hurricane. Molly later transitioned into a villainous character and feuded with Trish. She eventually won the Women's Championship in July 2002. Molly held the title for several months and successfully defended it against various challengers.
Later Career
After losing the Women's Championship to Victoria, Molly engaged in various feuds and storylines. She participated in multiple three-way matches and battled against Stacy Keibler. Molly also had a brief feud with Torrie Wilson and competed in the Diva Dodge Ball competition. In 2004, she feuded with Victoria once again, but failed to regain the Women's Championship. Molly continued to compete in the women's division until her departure from WWE in 2005.
Overall, Molly Holly had a successful wrestling career, winning multiple championships and being recognized for her technical skill and clean image. She left a lasting impact on the women's division in WWE and remains a respected figure in the industry.
