Biography of Montserrat Martí
Montserrat Martí is a Spanish opera singer (soprano) and the daughter of renowned singer Montserrat Caballé and singer Bernabé Martí. In her youth, Montserrat Martí aspired to become a ballet dancer, but a knee injury forced her to change professions.
Operatic Debut and Notable Roles
Montserrat Martí made her operatic debut in Hamburg in Mozart's opera "Don Giovanni." One of her most famous roles was Maria in Leonard Bernstein's musical "West Side Story," which was experimentally staged at the La Scala opera house in Milan. She often performed with her mother in concerts and duets, and their rendition of the "Cat Duet" became particularly well-known. Montserrat Martí also toured Russia, showcasing her talent to audiences across the country.
Marriages and Family
In 2006, Montserrat Martí married economist Carlos Navas Mira, but their marriage ended in divorce shortly after. She is currently married to entrepreneur Daniel Faidella, with whom she had a daughter named Daniela in 2011.
