Early Life and Education
Morten Burian was born on September 8, 1974, in Denmark. Little is known about his early life. In 2000, he graduated from the acting school at the Aarhus Theatre, the largest non-capital city theater in Denmark. During his studies, he interned at the Volksbühne Berlin, developing a deep appreciation for the immediacy and passion of his German colleagues.
Theatre Career
Burian began his career as a stage actor. He made his debut in September 2000 in an experimental production at the Aarhus Theatre that combined six one-act plays by six playwrights. Burian now believes that small onstage mistakes bring actors closer to audiences, allowing them to see the human beings behind the characters. In 2021, he starred in a deconstructed production of William Shakespeare's "Hamlet" at the Darmstadt State Theatre, performed in a mix of German and English.
Film Debut
Burian's screen debut came in 2004 in the short film "Flush" by Thomas Bremer. After a ten-year hiatus from cinema, he returned to starring in Danish television series, including the detective drama "The Killing" and the drama "Ride Upon the Storm."

Burian currently resides in Copenhagen. He stands 5'10" tall and weighs 165 pounds. He enjoys playing the guitar and bass guitar.
Recent Projects
In 2022, Burian expanded his filmography with the thriller "Speak No Evil," the short film "Deadline," and the crime drama "Love Is for Suckers." The Russian premiere of "Speak No Evil," which has drawn comparisons to Darren Aronofsky's "mother!," took place on September 29th, 2022. Burian portrays Bjørn, alongside Sidsel Siem Koch, Fedja van Huêt, and Karina Smulders.

Burian has announced his intention to stage an experimental play entitled "Late Summer," in which he will star.
