Early Life and Career

Nauel Guzmán is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Mexican club UANL Tigres. He began his career with the youth academy of Newell's Old Boys.

Newell's Old Boys

In 2005, Guzmán was promoted to the first team of Newell's Old Boys. He made his debut in the Argentine Primera División on October 8, 2005, in a match against Belgrano. Despite his debut, Guzmán spent the following years as a backup goalkeeper.

From 2007 to 2009, Guzmán was loaned to Independiente Rivadavia in the second division, where he played in 37 matches. Upon his return to Newell's Old Boys, he remained a backup.

Breakthrough

Guzmán finally became a regular starter for Newell's Old Boys in the 2012/13 season. He played in 34 league matches and impressed in the Copa Libertadores.

International Career

Guzmán represented Argentina at various youth levels, including the 2003 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Club Career

UANL Tigres

In 2014, Guzmán joined UANL Tigres in Mexico. He quickly established himself as the team's starting goalkeeper.
