Biography of Nebahat Çehre
Early Life, Childhood, and FamilyNebahat Çehre, a Turkish actress, former model, and singer, was born on March 15, 1944, in the coastal Turkish city of Samsun. Her family belonged to the classic representatives of the Turkish middle class. Her mother took care of raising the children and managing the household, while her father, originally from Georgian Adjara, worked as a clerk in a law firm. Among the two children of the Çehre family, Nebahat was the eldest, and the death of her father in 1949 affected her much more than her younger brother. Moreover, she showed great hostility towards her mother's new husbands. As a result, the atmosphere in their home became tense, and Nebahat began to consider leaving the family and starting a new life. At the age of fifteen, she participated in the "Miss Turkey" contest, and this bright day changed the course of her entire future. The girl was crowned the first beauty of her native country, which opened the doors to a new and exciting life for her. She started appearing in various magazines, commercials, and fashion shows. She became recognized on the streets, and soon she became a true star not only in her hometown but in the whole of Turkey. In 1960 and 1965, our heroine represented her country in prestigious international pageants such as "Miss World" and "Miss Universe." However, her participation in these projects was not as successful as her performance in the national beauty contest. Nebahat Çehre failed to reach the final of both competitions. Nevertheless, she became a true star in the world of modeling in Turkey. It is worth noting that despite her success as a model, she managed to successfully complete high school (which was quite an achievement in the 1960s) and enroll in the evening school of Fatih. In this place, the future actress learned the basics of acting, setting a great example for many other girls in traditionally conservative Turkey.

Career, "Little Birdie Singing"
Nebahat Çehre was able to apply all the knowledge she gained quite soon. In 1962, the actress successfully passed a casting for a film and got a role in her first movie, the romantic melodrama "Bird in Captivity" (Esir kus). In this film, our heroine immediately landed one of the leading roles. After the release of the film, Nebahat Çehre had the opportunity to feel like a true star of Turkish cinema. Remarkably, her debut film brought her tremendous success. She started receiving frequent invitations to various films, and in the same year, 1963, she appeared in seven feature films! During this period, Nebahat Çehre permanently moved to Istanbul, where she continued to act at the same frantic pace. Every year, several films with her participation were released in Turkey, and over time, everyone forgot that this charming girl used to appear in public only on the fashion runway. For everyone, Nebahat became a new star of Turkish cinema. However, the charming Turkish woman had more surprises in store for the audience. While continuing to act in movies, she decided to try herself in the world of music. She recorded several successful songs and became quite well-known in this new sphere. However, in the end, she decided to leave this "optional" creativity and fully focus on her screen career. And it paid off. Throughout her career, our heroine has appeared in more than seventy films and several successful TV series. Among her best works are the films "Ringo: Lion of the Plains," "Zorro: The Rider with a Whip," "Zorro's Revenge," "Nameless Warrior," and some others. Nebahat Çehre appeared in films very frequently, but in the early 1970s, she suddenly disappeared from Turkish cinema for a long time. She was no longer offered roles of seductive beauties as she had aged, and at some point, Nebahat decided to leave the film industry. Remaining outside of the Turkish show business, the actress devoted herself to household chores for a long time. However, she later realized that such a life was not for her. Both of her marriages ended in divorce, and after many years, Nebahat Çehre decided to return to the arts. Initially, the former "Miss Turkey" returned to the stage, releasing several new hits. Subsequently, she appeared in a new film, "The Rose," which became her first work in twenty-two years!

Nebahat Çehre Today, TV Series "Magnificent Century"
During this period, the aging actress began to often portray wise and powerful women on the screen. This new image breathed new life into her career. She started appearing frequently in TV series and soon participated in the creation of several real hits. One of such hits is the mega-popular TV series "Magnificent Century," in which Nebahat played the role of the royal mother of Sultan Suleiman. In the character of Valide, she became beloved by the audience and quickly regained her lost position in Turkish cinema. Currently, Nebahat Çehre remains a beloved actress for millions of viewers in different parts of the world. Her fans admire her in the series "Magnificent Century," and her co-stars Burak Özçivit and Halit Ergenç speak highly of her professional qualities. This project also involved such stars as Okan Yalabık, Meryem Uzerli, Selma Ergeç, and others.
Personal Life
In 1967, the actress married Yılmaz Güney, who is known in Turkey as a screenwriter and producer. Almost immediately after her marriage, Nebahat's husband insisted that she focus on housework and leave the film industry. Eventually, this marriage ended in divorce, just like her second marriage.
