Early Life and EducationNick Lachey, an American pop singer, actor, and television host, was born on November 9, 1973, on the border of Kentucky and Tennessee. Growing up in Ohio, he attended the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, where he honed his vocal skills. After high school, he enrolled at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California, before transferring to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he studied sports medicine and joined the fraternity "Sigma Alpha Epsilon."
Rise to Fame with "98 Degrees"
Nick, along with childhood friend Jonathan Lippmann, Jeff Timmons, and Justin Jeffre, formed the pop group "98 Degrees" in Los Angeles. After Lippmann left the group, Nick's brother, Drew Lachey, joined as his replacement. The band achieved success with the release of their second album, "98 Degrees and Rising," following which they released two more albums. The group's debut album, self-titled "98 Degrees," sold over 10 million copies.
Solo Career and Acting
Nick Lachey embarked on a solo career after the hiatus of "98 Degrees." His first solo album, "SoulO," was released on November 11, 2003, but failed to achieve commercial success. However, his second album, "What's Left of Me," released on May 9, 2006, became a hit. The album's eponymous single topped the charts and earned a Gold certification from RIAA. Nick Lachey was previously married to Jessica Simpson, and their divorce was finalized on June 30, 2006. They soon began dating and, in April 2007, the couple jointly purchased an apartment in New York City's Atelier Condo Building, where they have been living together. Nick is the godfather and uncle to Isabella Claire Lachey, the daughter of his younger brother Drew Lachey.
