Biography of Nick Lachey

Early Life and Education

Nick Lachey, an American pop singer, actor, and television host, was born on November 9, 1973, on the border of Kentucky and Tennessee. Growing up in Ohio, he attended the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, where he honed his vocal skills. After high school, he enrolled at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California, before transferring to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he studied sports medicine and joined the fraternity "Sigma Alpha Epsilon."

Rise to Fame with "98 Degrees"

Nick, along with childhood friend Jonathan Lippmann, Jeff Timmons, and Justin Jeffre, formed the pop group "98 Degrees" in Los Angeles. After Lippmann left the group, Nick's brother, Drew Lachey, joined as his replacement. The band achieved success with the release of their second album, "98 Degrees and Rising," following which they released two more albums. The group's debut album, self-titled "98 Degrees," sold over 10 million copies.

Solo Career and Acting

Nick Lachey embarked on a solo career after the hiatus of "98 Degrees." His first solo album, "SoulO," was released on November 11, 2003, but failed to achieve commercial success.
