Early Life and Education
Ann Kresky is an accomplished American violinist. Her musical journey began at the tender age of four when she commenced piano lessons under the tutelage of her mother. At the age of six, her passion shifted towards the violin. For eight years, she honed her skills under the guidance of Los Angeles-based pedagogue Sybil Maxwell. Her pursuit of excellence led her to seek further instruction from renowned masters such as Zino Francescatti in Paris, Dorothy DeLay in New York City, and Henry Temianka in Los Angeles.
Triumph at the Jacques Thibaud International Violin Competition
In 1981, Kresky's exceptional talent was recognized on a global stage at the prestigious Jacques Thibaud International Violin Competition in Paris. Her performances captivated the esteemed jury, including legendary violinists Leonid Kogan and Henryk Szeryng. Her triumph earned her widespread acclaim.
Concertmaster Positions and Chamber Ensemble
Kresky's career as a concertmaster began with the Santa Barbara Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. From 1989 to 1995, she held the position of concertmaster with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra. Subsequently, she became the first violinist of the Rossetti Quartet from 1996 to 2002, showcasing her versatility and chamber music prowess.
