Ioseliani's impressive tournament record includes 10 Soviet Championships, where she achieved top-five finishes in six of those. On the international stage, she excelled in Zonal and Interzonal qualifying tournaments, earning a place in the Candidates Tournaments in pursuit of the World Championship.

Ioseliani qualified for four Candidates Tournaments and faced off against legendary Georgian player Nona Gaprindashvili in a quarterfinal match in 1980. Despite her competitive spirit, she ultimately lost to Gaprindashvili.
