Biography of the UFO Band
The UFO band was founded in the city of Luhansk in 2002 by Arthur "ARCHI" Roshchupkin (vocals, guitar, music, lyrics) and Sergey Donchenko (lead guitar). Initially, the group was a studio band, with their songs being played on Luhansk radio stations from 2000 to 2002 and occasionally on FM stations in the CIS countries. In late 2000, the band signed a contract with one of the leading Russian recording companies, "Master Sound," to release three songs ("Mezh Mirov," "Uletai," and "Stimorol") on the compilation album "Crazy-3."
Over the course of their existence, UFO has participated in many concerts and festivals. In the summer of 2004, the band received a diploma for "Innovation and Potential" at the international festival "Music Without Borders" in Estonia. As of April 2005, UFO is diligently rehearsing and recording their debut album, tentatively titled "I Will Ground Myself in Your World." Some pilot versions of the songs are already available on their website.
Unofficial History of the UFO Band
The consequences of the infamous "Problem 2000" affected the computer systems of not only Earthlings but also other civilizations. One of these systems, which malfunctioned, caused the spaceship of the most popular band on the Moon, carrying a valuable musical cargo, to get lost in the universe. The band was on a charity tour to raise funds for disabled Martians affected by intergalactic wars. There was no way out, so they had to "ground" themselves.
Commander of the crew, Arthur "ARCHI" Roshchupkin (lyrics, music, vocals, guitar), led the grounding process. All the other members of UFO, without whom it would not have been possible, also had to take earthly names. Since then, they have been known as Sergey Donchenko (lead guitar), Alexander Yakunin (bass guitar), Valery Likhachyov (drums), and Yuri Shkurat (guitar).
After successfully landing in eastern Ukraine (in the city of Luhansk), UFO began to acclimatize to their new territory, immediately attracting the attention of the local residents through their participation in various mass events. As payment for their musical cargo, the Earthlings offered the band a portion of radio airtime, which they successfully occupied. Interestingly, the audio signal quickly spread throughout the CIS region (strangely enough, it reached Estonia the fastest).
Now, judging by the speed at which the popularity of UFO is growing on planet Earth, it seems unlikely that they will return to their historical homeland in the near future, even if they have the opportunity. Their conscience will not allow them to leave the hearts of Earthlings, which they conquered with their music. And they themselves are all hands for continuing to create in the name of earthly civilization (as the audience has grown fond of them).
