Noah Lyles: A Sprinter on the Rise

Noah Lyles is an American track and field athlete specializing in short-distance running. He is a two-time 2019 World Champion in the 200-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay.

Early Life and Career Beginnings

Lyles initially pursued gymnastics, but switched to track and field at the age of 12. His parents, Keisha Cain and Kevin Lyles, both competed in track and field at Seton Hall University. Lyles attended T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia.

International Success

Lyles represented the United States at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games, where he earned a gold medal in the 200-meter race. In 2019, he achieved a breakthrough with a time of 19.83 seconds in the 200-meter dash at the pre-Olympic World Championships in Qatar.

World Championship Double

Days after his 200-meter victory, Lyles became a two-time World Champion by anchoring the winning 4x100-meter relay team.
