Oleg Gerantidi: A Renowned Science Fiction and Fantasy Author
Early Life and EducationOleg Gerantidi was born on September 6, 1969, in Svetlolobovo, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. He pursued his education at the Irkutsk Flight School (or the History Department of the Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical Institute, according to some sources).
Military Service and Political Activism
During his military service in the Soviet Army, Gerantidi was assigned to the Kantemirov Tank Division. As an active participant in Russian politics, he led the Krasnoyarsk branch of the Army of People's Will (AVN), played a key role in the "Stalinist Bloc of Krasnoyarsk," and joined the "Essence of Time" movement.
Literary Career
Gerantidi's first novel, "Superior Forces," was published in 2005, followed by "On Foreign Territory" in 2006. His primary literary focus was on alternative history, particularly in his renowned novels "Small Blood," "By Mighty Blow," and "Towards the Sun."
Other Contributions
In addition to his literary achievements, Gerantidi also authored articles on agricultural economics and contemporary Russian politics. He held a professorship at a university in Krasnoyarsk in his later years.

On March 11, 2012, Oleg Gerantidi passed away unexpectedly at a hospital in Krasnoyarsk. He left behind a legacy as a gifted writer and a dedicated political activist.
