Early Life and CareerAmerican music educator, conductor, and organist Warren D. Allen was an inaugural member of the renowned Eastman School of Music. In 1914, he joined the Rochester Music School, founded by pianist Alf Klingenberg and conductor Herman Dossenbach. The school was initially known as DKG, an acronym for the initials of its three leading instructors.
Eastman School of Music
In 1918, the Rochester Music School was acquired by inventor and philanthropist George Eastman. Eastman established the Institute of Musical Art, and Allen became one of its earliest faculty members in the vocal department. He dedicated his career to teaching at the school until his passing.
