At the 1900 Olympic Games in Paris, Goßler competed in both the coxless four and eight competitions.
Coxless Four
In the coxless four event, Goßler joined forces with his brothers, Gustav and Karl. They formed part of the second German crew and faced a tough challenge in the semi-final. Despite the pressure, they managed to secure a victory with a time of 5:56.2. This result advanced them to the final, where they again displayed their exceptional rowing skills, crossing the finish line in 5:59.0 to claim the gold medal.

Following his success in the coxless four, Goßler also participated in the eight competition. His team finished third in their semi-final, but their hopes of securing another medal were dashed in the final. They placed fourth and did not manage to win a podium finish.
