Pal Bedak: Hungarian Boxing Prodigy
Pal Bedak, born on September 8, 1985, is a Hungarian professional boxer who competes in the light flyweight division. His impressive amateur career began in 2002.
Early Successes
As a teenager, Bedak showcased his talents by winning the European Cadet Championship in 2002, the European Junior Championship in 2003, and the World Junior Championship in 2004. Competing in the 48 kg weight class, he achieved notable success at the senior level as well.
Amateur Accolades
Bedak's amateur accomplishments included a bronze medal at the 2004 European Championship and a silver medal at the 2005 World Championship. He also represented Hungary at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics.
Transition to Professional Boxing
In 2008, Bedak transitioned to professional boxing under the German promotional banner Universum Box-Promotion. As of August 23, 2009, he had fought and triumphed in five professional bouts, including three knockouts.
Brotherly Legacy
Pal Bedak is the younger brother of fellow boxer Zoltan Bedak, who captured the WBO European super bantamweight title in March 2009.
