Childhood and EducationPaul Sverre Valheim Hagen was born on November 6, 1980, in Stavanger, Norway. Growing up in Estland, he moved with his family closer to Oslo to pursue acting at the Norwegian Theatre Academy. After failing to gain admission initially, he succeeded on his second attempt and graduated in 2003.
Theatrical Career
Hagen's theatrical debut granted him leading roles in prestigious venues like the Hålogaland Theatre and the National Theatre. Among his notable performances is his embodiment of Raskolnikov in "Crime and Punishment," which earned him accolades and a six-month hiatus to recover from its emotional toll.
In 2007, he received the Hedda Award for Best Male Actor for his performance in "Slop." His diverse repertoire includes works by Norwegian authors (Frøde Grøttum, Karl Frode Tiller) and literary classics (Shakespeare, Chekhov, Racine, O'Neill).
Film Breakthrough
While pursuing his theatrical career, Hagen simultaneously embarked on a successful film journey. His early breakthrough came with "The King's Choice," earning him a Kanon Award at the Trondheim International Film Festival.
