 Early Life and Career

Parviz Nasibov, an Azerbaijani-born Ukrainian Greco-Roman wrestler, was born in 1998 in the village of Muganly in Azerbaijan's Agstafa district. He lived in his hometown for the first six years of his life. At a young age, he developed a passion for sports and trained in freestyle wrestling for a year.

Relocation to Ukraine and Switch to Greco-Roman Style

In 2004, Nasibov and his family relocated to Mykolaiv, Ukraine, where he switched to the Greco-Roman wrestling style. He quickly established himself as a talented athlete.

 Early Successes

In March 2017, Nasibov participated in the World Cup in Abadan, Iran, where he became the only Ukrainian wrestler to win all his matches without defeat. In July 2017, he was crowned European Junior Champion in Dortmund, Germany, after defeating Georgian wrestler Giorgi Kurtanidze in the final. In September 2018, he earned a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships in Trnava, Slovakia.

 Olympic Qualification and Disillusionment

In May 2021, Nasibov secured a berth at the Olympic Games in Tokyo by winning a qualifying tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria. However, despite his success, he expressed disappointment at the lack of support from the Ukrainian government, particularly in terms of housing.
