Biography of Pat Sheen

Patricia Ann Sheen, also known as Patricia Sheen Crosby, was born on September 7, 1931, in San Francisco, California, USA. She was an American actress and model who gained recognition as the "Playmate of the Month" in the October 1958 issue of Playboy magazine.

Early Life and Family

Sheen's father, Arthur Edmund Sheen, was an automotive engineer and businessman, while her mother, Gladys Anna Larson, worked in a hospital. Her parents divorced in 1935, a few years after her birth. Her brother, Arthur Sheen, was a famous pitcher in the Triple-A league and was drafted into the United States Army in 1942. He served as a machine gunner on an American bomber called the "Flying Fortress" and tragically died as a senior sergeant when his plane was shot down over Germany. Only two out of nine crew members survived. Arthur Sheen's name later appeared in the San Francisco Hall of Fame. Pat's other brother, Ed, was a Jehovah's Witness and excelled in football during his school years.

Modeling and Acting Career

In 1949, Sheen won a local competition called "Miss Dairy Maid," which marked the beginning of her career. The next step was winning the "Miss San Francisco" beauty pageant in 1950. As a result, she traveled to Santa Cruz, California, to participate in Jim Davis's radio show and compete in the "Miss California" pageant. Sheen married George Van Dusen Ittu, a studio agent and assistant director, on January 9, 1951, in Carson City, Nevada. Their son, Franz Nicholas Gregory Van Dusen Ittu, was born on October 21 of the same year. However, the couple divorced on January 6, 1954, after the death of Patricia's father from diabetes.

Playboy and Film Career

As an actress, Pat made her debut as a maid in the adventure film "The Adventures of Hajji Baba," directed by Don Weis. She also posed for magazines such as "TV Fan" and "People Today" before landing her first speaking role in the film "Son of Sinbad" in 1955. Sheen became the "Playmate of the Month" in the October 1958 issue of Playboy magazine, with her image photographed by American photographer Sam Wu. She added fantasy film "Kismet," the comedy musical "The French Line," and the movie "Daddy Long Legs" to her filmography. Pat studied acting with Agnes Robertson Murhead. In 1955, she became one of the six Goldwyn Girls dancers and ended her acting career in 1958 with a role in the musical film "Gigi." She briefly dated Elvis Presley and once flew with him to Memphis to visit his mother.

Later Years and Death

In her later years, Patricia lived with her son Gregory, a Hollywood producer and screenwriter, and his wife Spice Williams, an actress and stuntwoman, in Van Nuys, California. Pat Sheen passed away from a heart attack on January 14, 2006, in Beverly Hills.
