Biography of Patricia Richardson
Patricia Richardson is an American actress known for her work in film and television. She was born on February 23, 1951, in Bethesda, Maryland, to Mary Elizabeth (née Howard) and Lawrence Baxter Richardson, a retired naval officer. Her parents had high hopes for her future.

Richardson attended Holton-Arms School in Maryland and later enrolled in Hockaday School for Girls in Texas. In 1973, she graduated from Southern Methodist University. She began her acting career on Broadway, where she had a role as an understudy in the musical production of "Gypsy: A Musical Fable."

After her Broadway experience, Richardson appeared in various television series such as "Double Trouble," "The Equalizer," and "Quantum Leap." She later starred in the films "CHUD" and "You Better Watch Out." However, her breakthrough role came in 1991 when she played Jill Taylor in the popular film "Home Improvement."

Following her success in "Home Improvement," Richardson received four Emmy nominations and two Golden Globe nominations. In 1997, she won the Independent Spirit Award for her debut lead role in the film "Ulee's Gold." In 1999, she portrayed Annabel Hayes in an episode of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
From 2002 to 2005, Richardson played Dr. Andy Campbell in the medical drama series "Strong Medicine." Apart from her successful acting career, Richardson is a mother of three children from her previous marriage to actor Ray Baker. Despite their divorce, they maintain a cordial relationship.
