Early Life and Education

Gerhard Wiplinger was born into a humble family as the tenth child of a traveling salesman. He received his early education at the renowned Petrinum Episcopal Gymnasium. His passion for the arts led him to pursue studies in theater, German philology, and philosophy.

Career as a Writer and Photographer

Upon completing his studies, Wiplinger embarked on a career as a freelance writer and photographer based in Vienna from 1960 onwards. His keen eye for both language and visuals has resulted in an impressive literary and photographic output.
