Early Life and CareerPeter Peterson, a renowned American billionaire and businessman, was born in 1926. He received a prestigious higher education and dedicated his life to working for the benefit of numerous companies. From 1963 to 1971, Peterson served as the CEO of Bell and Howell Corporation. In 1971, he was appointed by President Nixon as the Assistant to the President for International Economic Affairs. A year later, Peterson became the Secretary of Commerce and the head of the National Commission on Productivity. From 1977 to 1984, he led Lehman Brothers, Kuhn, Loeb Inc.
Leadership Roles
From 2000 to 2004, Peterson's main focus was leading the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Additionally, he served as the co-chairman of the Institute for International Economics and the chairman of the Institute for World Economics. Currently, Peterson holds the position of Senior Chairman and Co-founder of the Blackstone Group.
