Early Career
Lorenzo Maria Fieschi was born in Genoa, Italy, and became a cardinal in the Roman Catholic Church. He held the titular archbishopric of Larissa from 1713 to 1728 and served as the apostolic nuncio to Tuscany from 1713 to 1717.
Secretariat and Cardinalate
In 1717, Fieschi became the secretary of the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith, a position he held until 1724. He also served as the secretary of the Sacred Congregations for Bishops and Regulars from 1724 to 1728. Fieschi was elevated to the rank of cardinal on September 20, 1728, and was assigned the title of S. Lorenzo in Panisperna.
Hierarchy of the Cardinals
Fieschi's ecclesiastical career continued to ascend. He held several prominent positions within the College of Cardinals, including Vice-Dean from 1751 to 1753, Dean from 1753 to 1755, and Cardinal Bishop of Ostia and Velletri from 1753 until his death.
Suburban Dioceses
As a cardinal, Fieschi held several suburban dioceses, including the bishopric of Albano from 1740 to 1751 and the bishopric of Porto and Santa Rufina from 1751 to 1753.
Prefect of Ceremonies
Fieschi served as the Prefect of the Sacred Congregation for Ceremonies from 1753 to 1755. This role involved overseeing the liturgical and ceremonial aspects of the Church.
