Early Life and Career BeginningsPolona Hercog, a Slovenian professional tennis player, was born on January 20, 1991, in Maribor, Slovenia. She is the only child of Roman Hercog, a florist, and Vojko Hercog, a bar owner. Hercog grew up in Maribor and began playing tennis at the age of four.
