German Blogger Who Fooled Vatican Security Guards

Ralph Napirski, a German blogger, managed to momentarily fool Vatican security guards and gain access to a closed meeting. Despite his successful infiltration, Napirski had no ill intentions, as the opportunity to attend a Vatican gathering was already a great reward for him. Closed meetings in the Vatican are not uncommon, as the Church prefers to address and discuss various aspects of its activities behind closed doors. However, one particular recent meeting will be remembered by local clergy for a long time. It turned out that one of the attending bishops was an imposter.

Infiltrating the Meeting

Napirski was able to pass through the security posts quite easily by obtaining realistic-looking episcopal robes. Posing as Bishop Basilius from the Italian Orthodox Order 'Corpus Dei,' Napirski managed to enter the hall and blend in with the crowd. However, it didn't take long for him to be expelled from the hall as his attire did not fully comply with existing standards. Apart from lacking the traditional red belt, Napirski substituted it with a purple scarf. Additionally, his crucifix and headgear were incorrectly chosen. Before he could hear anything truly interesting, Napirski was escorted out of the premises by the attentive security guards.

Purpose of the Meeting

According to indirect information, this meeting was supposed to establish the date for the next papal conclave, during which the cardinals would elect a new pope. During his brief time in the hall, Napirski only managed to appear in a couple of photographs and speak to journalists in the guise of Bishop Basilius. The 'Corpus Dei' Order, to which Ralph Napirski supposedly belonged as a bishop, does not actually exist. The name for this false bishop was borrowed from one of Napirski's online diaries. These diaries cover various semi-religious topics and have almost no connection to the official position of the Roman Catholic Church. In his blog 'Jesus Yoga,' Napirski shares with readers the "secret techniques of Christian meditation" that enable individuals to control a special spiritual energy and directly connect with the consciousness of Jesus.
