American professional wrestler Randy Savage, known by his ring name Macho Man, was a prominent figure in the world of professional wrestling, particularly in WWE and WCW. Born Randy Mario Poffo in Columbus, Ohio, Savage began his career as a minor league baseball player before transitioning to wrestling in the early 1970s. His early wrestling gimmick was The Spider, but he later adopted the name Randy Savage on the recommendation of a promoter.

Savage signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in June 1985, where he quickly rose to prominence. He debuted in the PPV event Wrestling Classic and went on to win the King of the Ring tournament in 1987. Savage's character evolved from a villain to a fan-favorite, and he became involved in high-profile feuds with wrestlers such as Ted DiBiase, Andre the Giant, and Ric Flair.

One of Savage's most notable storylines involved his real-life wife Elizabeth Hulette, who also worked as a manager in the wrestling industry under the ring name Miss Elizabeth. Their tumultuous relationship was showcased on-screen, leading to memorable matches and moments. Savage won his second WWF Championship at WrestleMania VIII in a match against Flair.

After leaving WWF, Savage joined WCW, where he achieved further success, winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship four times and winning the World War 3 match in 1995. He also ventured into acting, appearing in films such as "Spider-Man" and "Ready to Rumble" and providing voice work for the Disney animated film "Bolt."

In 2003, Savage released a rap album titled "Be a Man," but he did not pursue a further music career. Tragically, on May 20, 2011, Savage suffered a heart attack while driving and crashed his car into a tree. He was pronounced dead at the hospital at the age of 58.
