Early Life and Artistic Influences
Raウザ Eralieva, a renowned Soviet and Kazakhstani artist, was born as the eldest child of a family in 1936. Her unwavering passion for art manifested from a tender age, as her mother often recalled how she would vanish from home with a sketchbook, spending hours sketching on rooftops or in trees. "I paint with my soul, my eyes, and my love for people," Raуза once wrote in her diary.
In 1937, her family relocated to Almaty, where she honed her artistic skills, pursued teaching, and raised a family while continuing to paint whenever she found spare time. Her motto, "Every new day is a miracle, and the world around us is the best source of inspiration," guided her artistic journey.
Works: A Reflection of Emotions
Raウザ's works extend beyond paintings to include poetry, serving as an outlet for her innermost feelings and thoughts. "I draw during the day, and I write poems at night, for myself..." she once said. Her creations exude a sense of tranquility and artistic euphoria, effortlessly translating onto the canvas. In her poems, she celebrates the beauty of nature, expressing:
"I am a green leaf
I am a flowerI am a gentle breeze
I am a stream!"
"Green glows with emerald
Sparkling in pink,
A sweet fragrance
Captivates my heart..."
Exhibitions and Recognition
In 2018, Raウザ Eralieva's first art exhibition, titled "I Am a Part of the World," was held at the A. Kasteyev Museum in Almaty, organized by her daughters who believed her art deserved a place in history. At the age of 82, she gained widespread recognition.
The following year, her artwork embarked on a Baltic tour as part of the "Ruhani Zhangyru" program. The exhibition captivated audiences in Latvia and Lithuania, leaving an unforgettable mark on the cultural landscape. Despite her aversion to publicity, Raウザ Eralieva granted an interview to Armanzhan Baitassov, the publisher of "Forbes" in Kazakhstan and Georgia, in 2022.
Baitassov praised her diverse artistic style, encompassing elements of Expressionism, Cubism, and Nudes, all imbued with a touch of ethnography. He noted, "Her works are filled with her soul's secret, known only to her... She paints with ease, infusing her canvases with positive energy, radiant colors, and emotional warmth. Through colors, she conveys her emotions and moods, which permeate her every creation."
Education and Artistic Journey
Raウザ Eralieva graduated in 1960 from the N.V. Gogol Almaty Art College. Guided by renowned artists Aisha Galimbayeva and Kanapiya Telzhanov, she developed a deep appreciation for painting, color, and the beauty of nature. Although she briefly explored ceramics and design, her true calling remained painting.
Her artistic journey began with teaching drawing and art at Almaty School No. 38. She later worked as a set designer, architect, and window dresser for various stores in Almaty, including "Voskhod" and "Kazakhstan," which were captured in the film "My Name is Kozha."

Family and Support System
Raウザ Eralieva found unwavering support in her husband, Eraly Alen-bek Kamzauly, an esteemed economist, academician, and professor. Their chance encounter in 1962, where their eyes met, ignited a love that would last a lifetime. They spent 58 years together, with Alen-bek providing not only emotional support but also practical assistance, enabling Raウザ to fully immerse herself in her art.
