Regina King was born on January 15, 1971, in Los Angeles, California, USA. She is an American film and television actress. Her mother, Gloria, is a teacher at a special school, and her father, Thomas King, is an electrician. Her parents divorced in 1979, and she has a younger sister named Reina.

Marriage and Divorce
On April 23, 1997, King married Ian Alexander. However, on November 8, 2006, she filed for divorce, accusing her husband of physical abuse, drug addiction, and infidelity. Currently, the actress is in a relationship with Malcolm-Jamal Warner.
Acting Career
King began her acting career in 1985 when she played the role of Marla Gibbs' daughter in the television series "227". In 1995, she appeared in the popular comedy film "Friday". In 1996, she portrayed Martin Lawrence's love interest in the film "A Thin Line Between Love and Hate". The same year, King starred in the romantic comedy blockbuster "Jerry Maguire" alongside actors Tom Cruise and Cuba Gooding Jr. This film and her character Marcee Tidwell brought her significant success and popularity.
She also played the wife of Will Smith's character in the spy thriller "Enemy of the State" and appeared in "Living Out Loud" and the adventure film "Mighty Joe Young" directed by Ron Underwood, alongside Bill Paxton and Charlize Theron.
