Early Career at Internacional and FluminenseRegis Anacleto de Castro Júnior(born 23 August 1975) is a retired Brazilian footballer who played as a central defender. His professional career began at the renowned Sport Club Internacional. From 1996 to 1999, Regis made notable appearances for the team before moving to Fluminense Football Clubin 2000.
Return to Internacional and Move to São Paulo
After a brief stint at Fluminense, Regis returned to Internacional. However, the club declined to extend his contract, prompting him to join São Paulo Football Clubin 2003. Despite spending only one season with São Paulo, Regis left an impression, having played in 76 matches and scoring 5 goals for the team.
Transfer to Russia and Loan Spells
In 2004, Regis made his international move by signing with Russian club FC Saturn Ren-TV. The transfer fee amounted to £667,500. However, his time in Russia was short-lived, as he managed only 9 appearances for Saturn before being loaned out to the reserve team. Regis spent the following years on loan at various Brazilian clubs, including Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, Brasiliense Futebol Clube, Associação Atlética Ponte Preta, and Coritiba Foot Ball Club.
Stints Abroad and Career in Brazil
Regis's journey continued with a loan move to Danish club Viborg FF, who later purchased his contract. He then played for Esporte Clube Juventude, Defensor Sporting Clubin Uruguay, Paysandu Sport Club, and Figueirense Futebol Clubein Brazil.
