Reid Scott Weiner was born on November 19, 1977, in Albany, New York, to Kathleen and Neil Weiner. His paternal roots are Russian-Jewish, while his maternal side is a mix of French-Canadian, Irish, and English ancestry.
Reid's love for acting blossomed after his mother suggested he join a drama club in sixth grade to combat his stuttering. During high school, he attended an all-boys military academy where he participated in theatrical productions of Shakespearean plays.
After graduating, Reid attended La Salle Institute in Troy and Syracuse University, where he became the first student to earn a combined directing degree from the drama and cinema schools. Upon graduating in 2000, he moved to New York City to pursue his acting career.
