Biography of Riccardo Frizza
Riccardo Frizza is an Italian conductor who has gained international recognition for his work in both symphonic and operatic repertoire. He was born in Milan and studied at the Conservatorio di musica 'Giuseppe Verdi' di Milano and the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena.
Early Career
Frizza's career took off when he became the conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra of Brescia from 1994 to 2000. During this time, he mastered an impressive symphonic repertoire, including the works of Beethoven. His talent as an opera conductor also became evident as he regularly performed at Italian opera festivals, establishing himself as one of the leading opera conductors of his generation.
International Success
Frizza has been a sought-after guest conductor at various prestigious festivals and opera houses around the world. Frizza's discography as a conductor includes recordings of the opera "Mirandolina" and a solo concert featuring Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez, dedicated to the works of Bellini and Donizetti, which won the Cannes Classical Award in 2004. He has also recorded the operas "La fille du regiment," "Matilde di Shabran," "Nabucco," and "Tancredi."
